Eats Shoots & Leaves

Bendrix asked if I’d read the Lynne Truss interview in The Star today. I hadn’t, cuz I don’t buy The Star. But there’s an online version, which I immediately went to, and was soon reading the interview.

Two things from reading the interview:

  1. I was reminded I haven’t got round to reading the book
  2. I wondered why she didn’t come into Malaysia to promote her book

Why haven’t I read the book?
Cuz I don’t really want to open up the book and break the spine.

Alter-whatever: So, you’d rather leave the book unread?

Self: Err …

Possible answer to why she didn’t come to Malaysia to promote her book:
Maybe her book didn’t sell very well here. (Bendrix)

I don’t know about that. But I do know it sold a few copies here, one of which I own, thanks to Bendrix. As for the others, I remember going to Kinokuniya KLCC to look for the book, there was only one copy, and when I asked for another copy for my purchase, I was told that was the only copy left. So a few copies did sell. I’m sure the bookstore didn’t only bring in one copy, right?
