Eat and WiFi

I had lunch with JL at this bubble tea place in SS2 which has free WiFi. Shortly after I switched on Phoebe’s Airport, a message came up to say none of her trusted network places were available but another network was available, did I want to log in. I clicked “yes”, and to my surprise, found more than one network available, including the bubble tea’s.

The bubble tea network required a password which the waitress provided when she saw us opening our notebook computers. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get in – still new to Mac, and don’t know how to configure – so I tried one of the other available networks which didn’t require any password, and got in without any problems.

So JL and I ate and WiFi’d. For a while, we were the only two WiFi users there. Then a girl came in, sat down, ordered, and when I looked across, I saw that she was using a white notebook … yes, an Apple iBook. She was soon joined by a guy friend who walked in swinging a small fabric case in his left hand. A while later, when I looked across, I saw that he was using the same machine as mine – a 12″ PB. Cool …

And that was it – just four WiFi users at the bubble tea place this lunchtime. 3 Apples and one … er … non-Apple.
