A smart marketing move?
I went downstairs to get some fruits for lunch just now. There’s a stall selling cut fruits just outside the office building. But when I got downstairs and was standing on the top of the steps leading down to the road, I glanced around and noticed a familiar glass fronted stall further towards where the outdoor car park was. I found myself asking what day is it today?
Well, it’s Wednesday, and Wednesday is rojak day where I work. So I headed over and got myself a packet, instead of the fruits I’d meant to get. However, I did get a small packet of cut jambu (water rose apple), since the rojak stall didn’t have any of that in its fruit mix today.
I won’t say the rojak from this stall is the best I’ve eaten, but since it’s only available once a week where I work, a lot of people end up looking forward to it every Wednesday. I don’t think they’d look forward to it as much if the stall were here every day. And that’s what I call a smart marketing move on the part of the couple managing the rojak stall. Apparently, they make the rounds of a few office buildings around town, and Wednesday is their day at the office building where I work.
And if anyone is wondering – yes, I wrote during lunch. Just like the “eat and wifi” lunch I had with JL a few Sundays back, today I had an “eat and write” lunch. With myself. I didn’t write much, but going by the daily quota if I want to complete 50,000 words by 30 November, I’ve done mine for today. In fact, for tomorrow, too. I’m hoping to finish before 30 November, so there will be more writing later today. But I’m not writing just for the sake of completing 50,000 words in 30 days. I’m writing cuz I have a story to write.
