Chasing the NaNo word count
Right now, I’m about two and half days ahead of the “game”, but somehow I’m not very happy about it. For some reason, I don’t seem to be having as much fun as I did last year.
Last year, I had days when I was behind, and it was usually a case of trying to catch up, of wanting to finish before 23:59:59, 30 November 2003. And I did finish, with a couple of hours, or three, to spare. And I was SO happy to finish; for the first time in my life, I finished something I started.
This year, I’m ahead, but always, there’s the worry that I might fall behind.
And that has somehow taken the fun out of the writing.
