Death in the Family
I just heard yesterday that Lee, one of the male residents at GT Heritage, suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away about three weeks ago. I thought I saw him only last weekend, but it could’ve been longer.
I used to wonder who would be the first to leave GT Heritage. M, the 93-year-old who’s the newest member of the family there, and who just celebrated her 94th birthday a month or so ago? Madam Y, who suffered a mild stroke about two months ago and has not been her feisty self since? Or even my own mother, who’s had her share of health problems, both past and present, including the one which led us to have her stay full-time there?
But it’s not for me to speculate but to enjoy each visit, especially her smile when she sees me.
