Whoopi!
I’m a sucker for birthdays (tho not my own), and I just found out from Rod McKuen’s Flight Plan for 13 November that today is Whoopi Goldberg’s birthday!
I’m a big fan (can you tell? I mean I’m actually writing about her birthday here), and the closest I came to being in the same space with her was when I went to this place in San Diego for breakfast during my 2001 Panda Holiday. The place is called Big Kitchen and Whoopi used to work as a waitress there. So she and I were there, altho not at the same time.
BTW, my mother likes her, too. We used to watch Hollywood Squares together, and she would recognise Whoopi by her smile and funny hair.
