Wish List – 2
Before I saw the mini fridge, there was only one item on my wish list. And this is not listed under the “Humour” category but “People” category, cuz it’s about a person. Actually, it’s about two persons, a mother and a daughter. In fact, it’s about a daughter’s love.
This one is the BIGGIE. Total up all the costs involved, and I can never hope to have it come true. Altho’ I wish I could.

Apart from the fact that Janis Ian is a favourite of mine, the concert is also for a good cause.

I can’t ever hope to be able to afford an evening with Janis Ian. Just think of the additional costs involved – if she were to come here, I’d have to pay for her airfare plus those of her entourage, plus shipping costs of her equipment, etc.
So it might be cheaper to fly there for the concert. I already know where I’d like to have it – in the living room of a house in Turners Falls, MA (I sure hope Big Chet & Beth will let me, and of course, they’ll be invited to the evening!). But then it won’t be just me flying there, as I’d like to invite some friends along, and since I’m inviting, I’ll pay, too, right?
Gosh, I sound like this private concert with Janis Ian is going to happen!
Unfortunately not, altho’ I’d really, really love to have it so that I can be a part of the efforts of the Pearl Foundation.
But all is not lost. After visiting her web site just now, I’ve learned that there are other more affordable ways to contribute towards the Pearl Foundation.
Looks like I may have this wish granted after all, albeit on a smaller scale.
Now to look for someone coming this way from the States soon.
