In case anyone is wondering, yes, I had a great time. I have something half-written in my Dana about the concert, which isn’t finished yet, but I thought I would post something here first.
I have two pictures and four audio snippets of the concert in my Zire 72 that I’m hotsyncing to my home PC right now (yes, at almost 2 in the morning). An announcement before the concert had cautioned no audio or video recordings. But just as she was launching into her cross-over hit “Constant Craving”, I found myself thinking I had to have some tangible memory of this moment. So I took out the Zire 72 and pressed the voice memo button. And I sneaked a couple of shots, which largely went unnoticed since there’s no built-in flash to draw attention to what I was doing.
I don’t think I broke the “no audio or video recordings” rule since what I took are not professional quality but mere “home” stuff meant completely for my own private consumption. Yup, the pictures won’t be posted here, but there are similar shots from her concerts in other venues posted by kdfans at the MSN forum. Let me ask permission before I put a link here, k?
Besides “Constant Craving”, one of the other audio snippets features her singing “Three Cigarettes in the Ashtray”, her tribute to the late Patsy Cline that evening.
