Anniversary

They would’ve been married 54 years today. My parents.

It’s also exactly a month since he left us.

She’s getting better, I’m grateful to report.

One of her meds, probably combined with one of the two recently added meds, caused her to sleep longer than she’s ever done – not just at night, but during the day, too. Where before she’d gone to bed at 10:00 p.m. and wake up at 4:00 a.m., recently she would sleep through till 7 or 8 in the morning. And then have deep naps after lunch which the helpers found hard to wake her out of.

Yes, “recently” but not anymore. Dr R adjusted her meds recently, and I’m SO happy to report that she’s coming out of her meds induced stupor and getting back to her old self – a little restless (fidgetting, etc.) and waking up at 4:00 a.m., but certainly much preferred to her being in a daze much of each day.

Another side effect was a Parkinson’s-like stiffness. In particular, her neck was at an awkward angle that made it hard to swallow without choking.

Scary or what?

But all that hopefully is behind us now. When I went to visit her yesterday afternoon, I found her quite different from the last time I saw her. She was more alert, albeit in a restless sort of way, and her sentences, altho short, were clearer.

Thank You, Lord. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
