Making progress
Two months ago, I was very grateful that mother could see I’d made a mistake writing out a Chinese character for her to recognise (Mother remembers).
These days, I’m both grateful and excited when she is able to answer simple questions.
Yesterday evening:
Me: “I’ll come and visit you another time.”
Mum: “You can visit anytime.”
This evening:
Me: “I have to go now.”
Mum: “Why are you going so soon?”
These are replies not made off the top of her mind, but after some thought and said with much effort. And said clear enough to understand.
Oh Lord, thank you so very much.
