My brother’s home for the first time in more than a month. The first thing he said when he got into the house was he overshot the house cuz the blue car was not there as landmark.
If you missed it earlier, read about the blue car here.
Apart from the fact that it’s a long weekend, he’s home for a reason. The three of us are going to sort out the things in the house. We’ve lived here for more than 10 years, and father was a hoarder. It’s going to be interesting, I think.
I’ll be moving to my own place later this year. This house really is too big for one person. And my arthritic joints are not liking the stairs!

Following my earlier post about 050505, fellow kvpugger Andrew thought long and hard about it and came up with this:
20:05, 20/05/2005
It’s even better than 05:05, 05/05/05!
Thanks, Andrew!

Ever since I signed up for an online account with my bank (not mine, but the one I have an account at), I’ve not been inside a bank often. Except for at least once a month, cuz there are still some transactions one cannot do with an online banking account, e.g., withdraw cold hard cash from it.
This afternoon was one of the rare times I went to the bank (not to withdraw, but to deposit, for a change). Now this bank has its main banking hall on the first floor, while the “take a number” machine is located on the ground floor. Most times, this is not a problem since the banking hall would be so crowded, I have to wait a while for my number to be called. Not today, tho.
Barely had I taken the number slip when I heard a number being called. I checked the slip and saw that it was my number! I hurried upstairs, checked the info board and headed for counter #1.
While the bank teller was putting the cheque thro the usual process, I grumbled about having to rush up a short while ago.
“You can actually deposit the cheque downstairs,” she told me.
Hmm …
Didn’t I say I don’t go to a physical bank all that often?
Still …

They would’ve been married 54 years today. My parents.
It’s also exactly a month since he left us.
She’s getting better, I’m grateful to report.
One of her meds, probably combined with one of the two recently added meds, caused her to sleep longer than she’s ever done – not just at night, but during the day, too. Where before she’d gone to bed at 10:00 p.m. and wake up at 4:00 a.m., recently she would sleep through till 7 or 8 in the morning. And then have deep naps after lunch which the helpers found hard to wake her out of.
Yes, “recently” but not anymore. Dr R adjusted her meds recently, and I’m SO happy to report that she’s coming out of her meds induced stupor and getting back to her old self – a little restless (fidgetting, etc.) and waking up at 4:00 a.m., but certainly much preferred to her being in a daze much of each day.
Another side effect was a Parkinson’s-like stiffness. In particular, her neck was at an awkward angle that made it hard to swallow without choking.
Scary or what?
But all that hopefully is behind us now. When I went to visit her yesterday afternoon, I found her quite different from the last time I saw her. She was more alert, albeit in a restless sort of way, and her sentences, altho short, were clearer.
Thank You, Lord. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
