Overdone Popcorn
Sometimes, it doesn’t pay to follow instructions to the letter.
The instructions had said “microwave 4 minutes on high” . So my niece had done exactly that.
Soon, the kitchen was filled with the delicious buttery smell of popcorn and a popping sound like that of rain on a tin roof. By the third minute, the popping sound had stopped, the bag looked like it was done, and then … and then … the buttery smell was replaced by an awful “burnt” smell that was accompanied by something billowing out of the top of the microwave …
Smoke!
Eww … the instructions were wrong, and because we followed it to the letter, we wasted a bag of popcorn.
Sheesh …
