Smart Panda
When Tai first learned to walk and climb the little rock structures in his “home” , he didn’t know how to get down once he got up one of those rocks. I have a video showing his first “descent” (courtesy of lakhun). After looking at the ground and trying to get down this way or that, he decided to jump … and landed on his face.
Just now, I saw him on the pandacam. He was on a higher rock and the descent down to the next one was steep. But instead of jumping (I’m sure he learned his lesson by now), he flattened himself close to the surface and put a paw down to the next level. Slowly, he moved his whole (fat) body down, but then he seemed to have trouble bringing down the last paw left on the higher ledge. After a bit, he turned and climbed back up. He next went to another face of the ledge and climbed down where it was less steep than the earlier one.
Smart panda!
