Cousins

Looking at the two pictures, it seems we were a close family, hanging out together a lot. But we were younger then, and some of our families lived under one roof. As we grew up, families moved out; as we grew older, some of us married, moved out with our own families. These days, we hardly meet up, usually once a year during Chinese New Year, and occasionally, someone’s wedding, maybe even funeral, too.
The top picture shows the older cousins from five families, and the bottom picture the younger cousins from three families. Three cousins from the first picture are also in the second picture.
And below, a picture of the fathers with their father, the cousins’ grandfather (the wizened old man in white top and black trousers).
