My Ladies in Red

A friend once told me she always pictures me with something red on me. And she was right. For a long time, I would wear a red belt with my pants, but that was only on weekends. I can’t remember what red thing I used to wear on weekdays.

These days, it’s not so much what I wear that’s red but what I carry. And what I always carry with me is my SonyEricsson k750i encased in a custom-made red leather Vajacase that I’d treated myself to shortly after I bought the phone. I first learned about Vajacases when I was looking around for a good case for my PDA. Vajacases are all hand-made, but very expensive. But since I’d bought the k750i at less than RM1k, and knowing I would be using it for a very long time (yup, no “upgrading” to fancier handphones for me), I decided to treat myself to a Vajacase custom-made for this particular model. It’s made in Argentina and came on FedEx via Tennessee. The cost? You really want to know? Inclusive of FedEx shipping and name personalisation, US$81. Not bad, right?

There’s a second red item I carry with me a lot these days, but it’s less visible than the k750i because it’s bigger and not so comfortably carried on my hand for too long. It’s my Levenger Circa junior sized red leather foldover notebook. Price? Without shipping, it cost US$68/-, less 20% during the 2006 Levenger Christmas sale.

Here are my two ladies in red:

Oh wait, I do wear something red on me – my red Crocs (seen here with Sharon’s red sandals).

Why red? It’s the only spot of colour on an otherwise drab me.
