NaNoWriMo 2007 - Update

It’s the end of Day 10 here in Malaysia. I’ve written 20,612 words of my 2007 NaNovel, according to the word count feature on my AlphaSmart Neo.

I’ve mostly been nano-ing at one of two places.

The Ikea Cafe during the week:

The breakfast counter at home on weekends:

The Ikea cafe, which is around the corner from where I live, serves local breakfast between 9 and 11 every morning, including free coffee before 10, for the unbelievable price of 99 Malaysian sen per portion, or RM1.04 after tax. The empty bowl in the first picture used to have chicken porridge in it. And no, that’s not chicken porridge in the mug in the second picture, but milk tea.

I’m there most weekday mornings, more to get myself out of the apartment so I have a change of scenery now and then. You won’t find me there on weekends, tho - the place is too crowded on weekends. Besides, it’s family time on weekends for me.
